Season two sees Justin in a homeless squat, staying away from the town. He knows the truth now, and Bryce knows it. Justin admits he skipped his deposition but he does tell Bryce about the tapes. He meets with Bryce who gives him alcohol. He asks her what she wants, offering to kill Bryce. Justin admits to Jess he nearly acted on his suicidal thoughts, but didn't because of her. He was physically assaulted by him, packed his bags and left home. Justin has no place to live at the end of season one, he's been at odds with his mother's boyfriend throughout the season. It leads to the pupils bullying her and thinking she's willing to sleep with other guys. He takes a photo on his phone of her on the slide in a playground making people think that she slept with him. Justin dates Hannah briefly, but it doesn't end well. She later tells her dad "Something happened to me." Justin In her deposition for the lawsuit she says boys "do things to girls that no one talks about" but doesn't expand on it. She says she doesn't want the tapes burnt but can't speak out. Clay gives her a choice, to destroy the tapes or go to the authorities about it. She had turned to alcohol to deal with what's happening but by the end episode she has stopped this. She knows that Justin did nothing to stop Bryce sexually assaulting her at the party and then he lied about it. Hannah sees what happens from the closet.īy the end of the season Jessica's relationship with Justin has blown up. She seeks help and talks to Mr Porter, the school counselor, revealing she's depressed.īut at a party Bryce comes into her room and ends up raping her. The final tape has Hannah saying she's going to "give it once last try". Each tape focuses on a reason why she took her life, each is aimed at a person.Īs so much happened, here's a recap. Mental health experts, however, weren't so keen saying it was irresponsible showing graphic scenes and people not opening up about their issues. It was a window into a teen mind and their struggles.
